ANNUAL DAY

Lok Puram Public School celebrated the Annual day and Prize Distribution Ceremony of Secondary Section on 7th December 2023 at Kashinath Ghanekar Natyagruha, Thane with great enthusiasm and exuberance. The events were graced by the Members of Management, Mrs. Rajniben Gandhi- Chairperson, Lok Foundations, Ms. Umaben Muchhala- Member Governing Council, Lok Foundations, Shri Bakul Avrani – Administrator & Trustee, Lok Foundations , Mrs. Shradha Gandhi – Member Governing Council, Lok Foundations, Shri Ramesh Vora- Member Advisory Committee, Lok Foundations, Dr. Lipika Chandra, Principal, Lok Puram Public School, Mrs. Deepa Bhattacharya – Sr.Headmistress, Lok Puram School, the Dignitaries and Special Invitees.

The show embarked with the divine blessings of prayer song and the presentation of Annual Report by the Principal. It was a leaf through the meritorious AISSE Results, Achievements and Accomplishments, followed by the Felicitation and Prize Distribution ceremony of the students who set an exemplary record in AISSE Results, Scholastic, Co- Scholastic & Sports achievers.The highlight was the cultural show ‘Prayas’. The dance drama was woven through the threads of motivational life journey and famous literary works of the great poet Kalidasa. He exemplified that wings of potential can neither be clipped nor measured. It is through sheer practice, perseverance and persistence that any summit can be conquered.

The Annual Day of Primary & Pre Primary section was celebrated on 22nd January & 2nd February, 2024 respectively at Kashinath Ghanekar Natyagruha, Thane. The cultural show ‘Colours of Life’ for grade III, VI & V and ‘Gift of Nature’ for grade I & II unfurled  in all its splendor with a breathtaking performance by the students. The tiny- tots of Pre Primary mesmerised the large gathering with their power- packed performances on the theme ‘Children’s World’.

ANNUAL ATHLETIC MEET 2023 – 2024

The School celebrated its Annual Sports Day for Pre Primary Section, Primary Section and Secondary Section on 13th December 2023, 12th December 2023 and 5th January 2024 respectively. The esteemed dignitaries,Principal, Administrator & Trustee of Lok Foundations, Member Advisory Committee, Lok Foundations and Senior Headmistress were escorted with Guard of Honour to emblaze the occasion.

The day unfolded with the Oath taking ceremony & declaration of the ‘Sports Meet Open’ by the Principal. A well coordinated and high spirited march past under the leadership of the School Sports Captain was a feast to the eye. Carrying forth the excitement, various forms of exercise drills like yoga, gymnastics and zumba were performed. Lighting the Torch marked the setting of the track events.

The most awaited event of the day was the Prize distribution ceremony. Ruby House from Secondary Section and Topaz House from Primary Section were declared the Winning House of the year. 

EARTH DAY CELEBRATIONS

The School celebrated Earth Day through a week-long celebration from 22nd April 2023 to 27th April 2022. Our environmental legacy is a testament to the power of collective action to join hands in safeguarding our planet. The students of Std VI to X actively took part to step up the efforts to combat climate change, protect biodiversity, and preserve our ecosystems through the following activities:

  • Std VI – Chart Making with thumb impression of students promising to save the Earth.
  • Std VII – Poster Designing on ‘Connect with Nature’ using leaves, twigs, flowers etc.
  • Std VIII – Hanging Pot Making from plastic bottles.
  • Std IX – Accordion Making on ‘Ways to Reduce Carbon Footprints’.
  • Std X – Collage Making on ‘How Mother Earth is Reacting to the Destruction by Human Beings’

NATIONAL READING DAY

 Lok Puram Public School celebrated National Reading week from 19th June to 24th June 2023 to honour the initiation of the library movement by P.N. Panickeron.
Activities included ( Std I to X) : 

  • Reading of books together for 30 minutes
  • Reading Relay Period ( in languages)
  • Digital Reading Period
  • English Recitation
  • Story Narration
  • Book Donation Camp
  • Making Bookmarks with interesting Quotes
  • Making Posters on Importance of Reading
  • Sketching / Painting a Cover Page of A Storybook

INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY

The school celebrated  9th International Yoga Day with various activities on 21st June 2023 with a mass Yoga Session  organised in the school. Students from Nursery to Std X excitedly performed various asanas which commenced with chanting of shlokas and concluded with Pranayam and Meditation. Beside this, awareness speeches on the importance of practicing yoga were delivered in the morning assembly. In addition Charts by students on various postures of yoga asanas and their benefits were also displayed.

INVESTITURE CEREMONY

The School Investiture Ceremony was held on 28th June 2023 & 30th June 2023 for Secondary and Primary Sections respectively to encourage and kindle leadership qualities in young prodigies. The prestigious occasion commenced with Saraswati Vandana by the school choir group. Principal – Dr. Lipika Chandra & Sr. Headmistress Mrs. Deepa Bhattacharya pinned the badges to the members of Student Council and administered the oath of Office. The occasion was graced by the Trustee and Administrator ,Lok Foundations – Shri Bakul Avarani.

The School Captain, Sports Captain, House Prefects and Sports House Prefects adorned with sashes and badges took the responsibility of leading their school with utmost commitment, confidence and competence. Candles were lit to take the pledge to uphold the school motto of Loyalty, Truth and Honour in high esteem. The event reinstated faith in the calibre and leadership of future generations.

AZADI KA AMRIT MAHOTSAV

The School conducted a series of events under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav planned by the Government of India to create awareness and special focus on ‘Tribal Empowerment’.

Students participated in the following activities:
 

  • VI &VII – Picture gallery was prepared and displayed on ‘Tribes of Maharashtra’
  • VIII – Charts were made on ‘Culture and Life of Tribes of Maharashtra’
  • IX – Article writing and Story Board creating on ‘Impact of Drug Abuse’
  • X – Display Board competition on ‘Tribal Communities of India & Govt Measures to Empower Them’

MERI MAATI, MERA DESH

The school enthusiastically participated in the nationwide & people led ‘Janbhagidari’ initiative celebration of ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’. The students, teachers and staff affirmed their bond to nourish Earth and honour the braves of the nation through the following activities conducted from 9th August to 15th August 2023:

RAKSHA BANDHAN CELEBRATIONS

Raksha Bandhan is an unique bond of protection & eternal sibling love. Lok Puram Public School took a step forward to create this incessant bond with the Motherland through Rakhi making competition for the students of Std VI to VIII on 12th August, 2023. The theme was ‘I Love My Tiranga’. The students made beautiful rakhis by using various materials representing the Tricolour.

INDEPENDENCE DAY

Lok Puram Public School celebrated the 77th year of India’s Independence on 15th August 2023 with solemnity and pride. The auspiciousness of the program began with Hon’ble Principal hoisting the National Flag. Pledge was taken holding the CLAY DIYAS to serve for the betterment & development of our nation. The significance of clay diya was to promote ‘Atma Nirbhar Bharat’ and ‘Viksit Bharat’ with the use of local products. The celebration caught momentum with the melodious patriotic songs and chanting of patriotic slogans. The day concluded with the tree plantation drive by the students and teachers to make Earth a greener planet.

TEACHERS’ DAY

Teachers Day was celebrated on 5th September 2023 to commemorate the birth of the second President of India –  Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, who was a philosopher and a great teacher. Student teachers of Std X taught the students with great enthusiasm. A short cultural programme consisting of Speeches, Dance and Songs was presented by the students of Pre Primary, Primary & Std X enthusiastically to showcase their love and gratitude towards their mentors.

Annual Book Exhibition

Annual Book Exhibition 2023-24 was organised for the students on 30th September 2023. An Array of Books by Famous writers, Periodicals, Magazines, Resource books of various subjects & journals were on display. This inculcates & promotes the reading habits in the students.

WORLD MENTAL HEALTH WEEK

World Mental Health Week under the initiative of ‘Manodarpan’ by GOI was observed from 4th to 10th October 2023 for Std VI to IX through the activities like chart making, slogan writing, poster making etc. on the importance of inner happiness & socio-emotional aspects for holistic development. This initiative aims to provide psychosocial support to students, teachers and families for mental health and emotional well-being.

NATIONAL UNITY DAY

National Unity Day, to mark the birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was observed on 31st October 2023 for Std VI to IX with a plethora of activities like Designing Posters, Essay Writing, Collage making & Story writing to highlight the cultural harmony of ‘Unity in Diversity’ & the importance of solidarity for the development of the nation.

DIWALI CELEBRATIONS

Diwali, the festival of lights was celebrated on 26.10. 2023 through a cluster of creative & colourful competitions for students of Std VI to X like Diya Decoration, Designer Paper Bag Making, Pot Painting, Rangoli, Greeting Card, Toran & Kandil Making, Salad Making, Canvas Madhubani Painting etc. Students put their best creative foot forward & participated enthusiastically.

BHARATIYA BHASHA UTSAV

As directed by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, the school celebrated Bharatiya Bhasha Utsav with the theme, ‘Bhashaye Anek, Bhav Ek’, on 11th December 2023. Students of Std VI to IX enthusiastically participated in the activities like creating a signature chart in regional dialect, giving self awareness speech in their mother tongue, singing songs & reciting poems in regional languages etc. This was an endeavour for the students to create interest in local languages and enhance linguistic tolerance, thereby promoting national integration.

VEER BAAL DIWAS

Veer Baal Diwas was celebrated to pay homage to the great valour and supreme sacrifice of Sahibzada Zorawar Singh and Sahibzada Fateh Singh, the younger sons of tenth Sikh-Guru Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji, on 23.12.2023. Multifarious activities were conducted for Std VI to X,  like Story Narration on the valour and sacrifice of Sahibzadas, Animated Movie ‘Chaar Sahibzada’ depicting their ethics and values was shown, Picture Gallery was made on the life of Zorawar Singh ji and Fateh Singh ji & students participated in the online Quiz of ‘My Bharat Portal’.

MAKAR SANKRANTI

Makar Sankranti, the auspicious festival of Uttarayan, also known as the harvest festival was celebrated on 16.01.2024 with great zeal. Tiny tots of Pre Primary created beautiful artworks depicting the various celebrations of Makar Sankranti. Students of Std VI to VIII made kites with messages and quotes on them. Speech on the astronomical aspect behind the celebration was disseminated as a part of the morning assembly. Students also presented folk songs expressing joy over the advent of a new harvest season.

REPUBLIC DAY

The school celebrated 75th Republic Day with great patriotic fervor on 26th January, 2024. The programme commenced with the unfurling of the tricolour by the Administrator & Trustee, Lok Foundations & the Principal. The attendees saluted the National Flag and pledged themselves to uphold the honour, integrity, and uniqueness of the country. Students showcased unity through a spirited march past, stirring motivational speeches and harmonious Patriotic group singing. The event concluded with the National anthem.

FAREWELL CEREMONY OF STD X (2023 – 2024)

Lok Puram Public School conducted the Farewell Ceremony for the students of Std X on 2nd February, 2024. It was a burst of cheerful greetings and heartfelt good wishes as the students were embarking on their journey of future success. Principal & Members of Management blessed the students with Tilak Ceremony. Fun n frolic filled the air with the presentation of a short cultural programme ‘Yadein’ by the students of Std VIII & IX. Awards, games,music, drama, cultural folk & western dances kept the students tapping their feet. The final words of the Principal,motivated & instilled confidence in the students for their upcoming examinations & future endeavours.
