Annual School Exhibition (2025-2026)

Lok Puram Public School held its Annual School Exhibition titled SAMWAD-A talk with nature on the 23rd of August 2025. The event was inaugurated with the lighting of the lamp seeking the blessings of God Almighty by the Members of the Management, Lok Foundations -Shri Bakul B. Avarani ,Trustee & Administrator, Shri Ramesh D. Vora, Advisor , Dr Lipika Chandra Member Governing Council and School Principal Mrs Manjusha Bapat .

SAMWAD was a bold attempt to raise awareness among people the about environmental issues like waste management in various industries food, cosmetic , textile ,stationary and landfills .An awareness was created about burning issues like need for local food footprint, eradication of global warming by doing micro climate monitoring ,ozone depletion , soil profile ,disposable waste and tissue paper management etc .In Samwad deeper topics like reducing carbon footprint using smart water refilling,smart irrigation , smart City ,smart Homes,use of motion sensors etc were represented in the form of working models and charts.

Sustainable solutions in the form of hydroelectricity,windturbines,solar panels emphasized the need for a rational switch to energy saving options. In addition, the School Clubs such as Eco Club, Yuva & Heritage Club, & Wellness Club charts and artifacts also won appreciation by the visitors.

Samwad was a brilliant attempt to integrate Maths and Science (both) to portray a deteriorating earth and possible solutions or remedies for the same. The competition was adjusted by Dr Indulekha , Mr Vaibhav Sawant, Mr Bibhu Bhushan Parija & Mrs Varsha Taware all of whom were competent parents from field of Science and Maths.The entire exhibition was a huge success with children coming up with logical data and solution for a better earth.

Eye Check-Up Camp

An Eye Check-Up Camp was organised in the school hall on the 9th,10th and 11th of July 2025 .All children from Nursery to class X along with the entire staff participated in the camp. Under the initiative of the Principal Mrs Manjusha Bapat the camp was organised by Wavikar Eye Institute,Thane.The objective of the programme was to identify children with vision problems and guide them so that they would be free of visual limitations.

Approximately two thousand students of the school underwent complete eye examination which was administered by five qualified Optometrists. Students got benefited from timely eye-check up and gained insight about the range of normal vision and precautions to be taken for maintaining healthy eyes.

ECO FRIENDLY GANESHA IDOL MAKING WORKSHOP

On the 25th of August 2025,the Interact club of Lok Puram Public school along with the Inner Wheel Club,Thane Hiranandani Estate brought together students from Grades 8 and 9 for a unique and creative experience – an Eco-friendly Ganesh Idol Making Workshop. This engaging session by Mrs Bhaide, President of Rotary Club of Thane Hiranandani Estate was designed to unlock the artistic potential of our young learners, while instilling valuable lessons in sustainability and environmental responsibility.

As the children immersed themselves in idol making with Shado Mati, a natural and biodegradable material, the students were delighted in the process of creating charming and beautiful Ganeshas. With the guidance from skilled facilitators, they learned the art of eco-friendly clay modeling, shaping their own Ganesha idols symbolizing the message of hope, and harmony.

ORIENTATION PROGRAMME FOR PARENTS

Orientation Programme on Assessment Pattern for the parents of Std VI to X was held on 19TH of April 2025 to update them about current changes in the Curriculum and Assessment Pattern.

WORKSHOP ON RATIONAL PARENTING

The School organised a session on Rational Parenting for the Parents of Std X on July 5,2025 with a vision to foster holistic development of the students in a conducive environment. Mrs. Ketki Raut , the School Counselor and Mrs. Seema Rao Rane, Special Educator & Guest Parents of our School Toppers in Std X Board Examination 2024

Mr. Navneet Singh and Mrs. Kanchan Sahasrabuddhe were the Resource Persons.They shared their experiences of grooming their children towards the summit of academic excellence blended with active participation in Co-curricular activities and school Programmes conducted round the year. Topics such as mindfulness, empathy towards children, setting boundaries, navigating disagreements in a constructive manner, balanced diet, etc were also touched upon by the resource persons.

The Session helped the parents gain insight about positive parenting , strategies to keep their children happy and motivated while preparing for the Board Examination.

WORKSHOPS FOR STUDENTS

FIRE SAFETY WORKSHOP

Lok Puram Public School, as part of its commitment to ensuring the safety and preparedness of its staff and students, organized an insightful Fire Safety Workshop on Saturday, 29 April 2025. The session was conducted by fire safety officer Mr Nilesh Vetal Balkum Fire Station .The workshop aimed to enhance awareness about fire safety measures and emergency protocols among the student community.

FIRST AID WORKSHOP

A First Aid Workshop was conducted on July 3,2025 to educate students on basic first aid and emergency response techniques. The session was led by Dr. Ankit Biyani, Head of Emergency at KIM Hospital, who served as the resource person. The workshop covered essential topics such as treating cuts, burns, fractures, fainting, and performing CPR. Through live demonstrations and hands-on practice, students learned how to remain calm and respond effectively in emergency situations. The session was informative, engaging, and significantly boosted the students’ confidence in managing real-life medical emergencies. Overall, it was a valuable and enriching experience that highlighted the importance ‘Being alert,serious health concerns will avert’.

A MOTIVATIONAL SESSION FOR STD X STUDENTS BY TOPPERS

On the 19th of July 2025 ,Lok Puram Public School organized a motivational talk by AISSE toppers for the students of Grade X, with the aim of inspiring and guiding them as they prepare for their upcoming AISSE examinations.The session featured Class X toppers(2024-2025) Ishneet Kaur,Krushna Shenoy,Uzair Khan ,Mayank Gupta and Aarya Sahastrabuddhe.

The talk was part of the school’s academic mentoring program to equip students with practical tips, emotional support and strategic guidance to handle exam stress and improve performance.

They highlighted the importance of consistency, time management and developing a positive mindset. The speakers emphasized that success is not about being perfect, but about staying committed to one’s goals. They provided practical study tips such as making a realistic timetable, focusing on NCERT textbooks, and solving past year papers. The Principal Mrs Manjusha Bapat Madam encouraged class X children to start implementing effective strategies and positive mindset to achieve their goals.

ELECTRICITY SAFETY WORKSHOP

A workshop on Electricity Safety was organised by Lok Puram Public School on the 23rd of July 2025.The resource person for the workshop was Mr Pradeep Patil Senior Engineer, Government of Maharashtra. Valuable insights on good and bad conductors of electricity, basic safety rules and prevention of electrical shocks was discussed at length with the inquisitive 7th graders.The workshop was successful in increasing awareness about faulty electrical connections, accidents and also how to take preventive measures for the same.

ROAD SAFETY WORKSHOP

A road safety workshop was recently conducted for students on August 2,2025 to educate them about safe practices on and near roads. The workshop, led by AMWI Sagar Patil, raised awareness about road safety regulations and encouraged responsible behaviour among students as pedestrians, cyclists and potentially future drivers. The workshop equipped students with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate roads responsibly, understand the potential dangers of negligence and make safe choices as pedestrians and cyclists.

CAREER GUIDANCE WORKSHOP

A workshop on Career Guidance for Std. X students was organised on 7th August 2025 by Lok Puram Public School along with The Inner Wheel Club of Thane Lake City. Rotarian Mr. J.B. Kabra, the Resource Person, discussed several courses available in the country besides Engineering, Medicine, Arts, Commerce and Technology. The session provided valuable insights into holistic career development, encouraging students to assess their strengths, interests and aspirations. Through engaging discussions and real-life examples, the workshop broadened their understanding of career planning beyond academics. The interactive nature of the session allowed students to clarify doubts and gain clarity about future academic and professional paths.

SPARSH WORKSHOP ON SAFE AND UNSAFE TOUCH

An important Awareness Session on SAFE and UNSAFE TOUCH for std 1 to 5 was conducted by the SPARSH Team on 9th September, 2025. The workshop aimed to educate children about appropriate and inappropriate touch, promoting their safety and well-being

WORKSHOP BY HINDUSTAN TIMES

The leading National Daily Hindustan Times conducted workshops for students. On October 6,2025, Class 4 had a workshop on ‘Study Habits’ while class 5 sharpened their IQ with a workshop on Memory Building . Standard VI to VIII had workshops spread across a diverse set of educational content on the 23rd of September 2025.The topics for standard VI was Fun with Maths while standard VII and VIII were enlightened with ‘Communication Skills’. The higher classes of IX and X had workshops on ‘Self Assessment’ and ‘Goal Setting’ on the 13th and 14th of October 2025.The resource person shared tips and techniques to enhance concentration skills benefits of positive attitude, role of meditation and importance of inculcating habits for holistic development

FINANCIAL LITERACY WEEK

A workshop on ‘Financial Literacy’-21st Century Skills was conducted for class X on the 19th of October 2025.The resource person was Mr Bharat Bansal, Vice President,Unit Trust of India.The workshop focussed on personal finance and basic fundamentals like earning, spending, saving and the pay yourself first’ principle.

APTITUDE TEST AND COUNSELLING

The school organised an Aptitude Test for Std X students on 5th October 2025 by Path Counselling Organisation. A one to one counselling & feedback session for the same was held on 23rd December 2025 with students & their respective parents.

WORKSHOP FOR PARENTS

A Career Guidance Workshop was organised for the Parents of Std X on 13th December 2025 by Rotarian Mr. J.B. Kabra who brought forward various career options available to the students as per the current trends.

Annual Science and Maths Exhibition (2024-25)

Lok Puram Public School organised Annual School Exhibition titled ‘KAVACH’ on 24th August 2024 . The theme “Kavach” focused on demonstrating effective strategies and disaster preparedness with the 4P’s namely Predict, Prevent, Protect and Publish. The event was inaugurated with the lighting of the lamp seeking the blessings of God Almighty by the Members of the Management, Lok Foundations -Shri Bakul B. Avarani ,Trustee & Administrator, Shri Ramesh D. Vora, Advisor , Mrs. Shraddha Gandhi, Member Governing Council and School Principal Dr. Lipika Chandra.. She was accompanied by the Parent Judges- Mr. Kapil Paranjape, Mr. Satyajodha Kaushik, Mrs. Dipti Mistry & Mrs. Manisha Daitkar.

The exhibition featured a wide range of exhibits including models and charts illustrating different types of disasters like earthquakes, floods, fire, plastic waste management, extinction of birds and animals, lightening, crop failure, building collapse, cyclones, oil spills in the sea, evacuation strategies during disasters, fire alarm system, prevention against train accidents etc.

In addition, the School Clubs such as Eco Club, Yuva & Heritage Club, Health & Wellness Club charts and artifacts also won appreciation by the visitors. Student members of Eco-Club also gave a wonderful cultural presentation on Water Conservation.

The visitors were impressed by the vast information displayed by the secondary students. The event was an evidence to the school’s commitment to promote and foster scientific temperament in students.

Project Display for Pre Primary Section was held on 19.10.2024 on the topic ‘Nurture Nature’. Tiny tots put up their creative brilliance & showcased various concepts & topics like ‘Me & My Family’, Community Helpers’, ‘Our Neighbourhood’ etc. through colourful charts, creative models, role play, skit presentation etc. They highlighted the importance of valuing nature & relations.

SIKSHA SHAPATH WEEK

As per CBSE guidelines, the school celebrated Siksha Shapath Week from 22nd to 28th July, 2024 to commemorate the 4th anniversary of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

Teaching and Learning was conducted through play – way methods like gamification, art integration, physical activity & experiential learning. Other activities like playing indigenous games such as kho – kho, langadi etc, poetry recitation, rendering folk & patriotic songs, Tree Plantation Drive etc were conducted to create awareness about the importance of plantation to maintain ecological balance.

SWACHHATA PAKHWADA

Swachhata Pakhwada was observed in the month of September 2024 through the following activities for the students of Std I to X as per CBSE directives:

I	Hand Wash Training was given to the students to educate and train them on the correct hand washing technique to maintain personal hygiene and prevent the spread of germs.
II	An interactive worksheet on ‘Good Hygiene Worksheet’ was done to reinforce the importance of good hygiene practices
III	students wrote slogans on various health and hygiene topics like hand washing, cleanliness, healthy eating etc.
IV	Students painted pictures to express their creativity and understanding of health and hygiene concepts.
V	Students wrote essays and cleaned & organised classrooms to take ownership of their learning space & demonstrated a deeper understanding of the importance of cleanliness and hygiene.
VI	Students made bookmarks with slogans on maintaining cleanliness.
VII	Students made posters on creating awareness of keeping our environment clean.
VIIII	Students made collage with slogans suggesting to maintain cleanliness of our heritage sites & beaches to promote tourism.
IX	Students cleaned their classrooms.

Also, as a part of hands on experience, students of secondary section collected plastics of all types like pet bottles, plastic bags, cans, pens, old toys, etc. and sent it to the Plastic Recycling Plant as a part of their campaign to ‘ Reduce , Reuse and Recycle Plastics’.

They also actively took part in the ‘Cleanliness Drive’ organized in the school & picked up dried leaves, flowers from the School ground and put them in the compost tumbler of the school for the purpose of making compost.

‘SWACHHATA HI SEWA’ CAMPAIGN

The school actively implemented the campaign, ‘Swachhata Hi Sewa’ a Govt initiative, aiming to encourage all students from Std I to X on service towards cleanliness and hygiene. It was conducted in the month of September 2024 with a plethora of activities like drawing & colouring on ‘Elimination of Single use Plastic’, slogans & street play on ‘Swabhav Swachhata & Sanskar Swachhata’, essay writing on ‘Importance of Cleanliness’, paintings on ‘Cleanliness is Next to Godliness’. Special morning assembly was conducted with awareness speeches highlighting the importance of Swachhata, rendering songs on ‘Swachhata Hi Swathav’ & a pledge on ‘Swachhata Shapath’ was taken by all students. Reinforcing the concept, students of Primary Section enthusiastically participated in the cleanliness drive inside the school premises.

WORKSHOP FOR STUDENTS

A Motivational Session for Std X students was organized on 27th June 2024. The school Toppers of All India Secondary School Examination 2024, Manthan Thakker who scored 98.87% and Abhinav Gupta scoring 97.4% attributed their success to the Principal, School,Teachers and Parents. They shared their study methodology and personal experience of appearing in Board Examination with the present batch of Std X. Students gained insight about strategies to score good marks, enhance memory and concentration power, best time for study as well as to give oneself time for recreation apart from studies and maintain balance between academics and co-curricular activities.

An Eye Check-Up Camp was organised from 18th July 2024 to 22nd July 2024 for Nursery to Std X & entire Staff. It was in line with the vision of the school to promote overall Physical Health and Well-being of the Students.The camp was conducted in collaboration with Shree Ram Krishna Netralaya, Thane. The school organized an interactive workshop on the topic ‘Financial Literacy’ on 5th August 2024 for the students of Std. IX & X along with the teaching and non-teaching staff members. The Speaker for the session Mr. Bharat Banzal, Vice President ( Unit Trust of India) highlighted the concepts of Banking, Investment, Budgeting, Saving and Money Management. He emphasized on the importance of planned investment for a safe future. The session was an eye opener for the children as they realised the importance of financial management and gained insight about judicious and safe use of available funds.

Kabra, the Resource Person, discussed several courses available in the country besides Engineering, Medicine, Arts, Commerce and Technology. The interactive workshop helped the students understand career development as a whole which would help them grow and prosper in their future endeavors.

School Interact Club in association with Rotary Club of Thane conducted a Workshop on making Eco Friendly Ganpati Idol for the students of Std VIII & IX on 6th September, 2024. The workshop emphasized the significance of implementing sustainable practices at festivals to safeguard our environment. Mrs. Pournima Shirgaonkar, a skilled artisan, along with her team from ‘Paryavaran Shala,’ showcased the method of shaping clay into exquisite Ganpati idols.

Leading National daily, Hindustan Times conducted workshops for on 30th September 2024, on the topics ‘Memory Skills’ for Std VI & VII, ‘Nothing is Impossible’ for Std VIII & IX & ‘Time Management’ for Std X catering to the importance of focus, perseverance, organisational & management skills of the students for enhancing their academic skills.The Resource Person Mini Pillai shared tips & techniques to enhance concentration skills, benefits of positive attitude, role of meditation, importance of inculcating hobbies for a holistic development.

Dental Check Up Camp was organised on 18th & 19th December 2024 for the students and staff of school by Dentech, Vasant Vihar. The team of dentists had a thorough dental checkup and gave individualised feedback. They also suggested good oral hygiene practices to be followed every day.

A workshop on the topic ‘Personal Safety of Children & Cyber Safety’ was conducted on 7th January, 2025 for the students of Std VIII. Mr. Sunil Wender, Senior Police Inspector, Chitalsar Police Station, Mr. Aditya Pel & Mr. Aditya Singh from Decetech Institute of Cyber Crime & Mrs. Archana Mere, Director Cause Foundation NGO, created awareness among students on various kinds of cyber theft. Students were sensitized to the importance of keeping personal information safe from any kind of misuse in this digital era.

ORIENTATION PROGRAMME FOR PARENTS

As per the guidelines of CBSE in New Education Policy, Competency based ,Case Study & Source based questions are introduced for students of Std IX & X to promote higher order thinking skills.

WORKSOP ON VOCATIONAL GUIDANCE

A workshop on Vocational Guidance was conducted for the Parents of Std X students 31st August 2024. Rotarian J.B. Kalra was the Resource Person. He enriched the parents by providing information on different fields and career options available for students as per their interests & potentials. He mentioned various colleges and institutes where students can apply to pursue regular & professional courses.

Annual Science and Maths Exhibition (2023-24)

Aiming to inspire the young minds & encouraging a scientific temper among students, Lok Puram Public School organized the Annual School Exhibition on 26th August, 2023 for the students of Std VI to X. Principal Dr. Lipika Chandra, inaugurated the exhibition by doing the honours of cutting the ribbon and lighting the lamp. She was accompanied by the Parent Judges- Mrs. M.Prabha, Mrs. Ashwini Ambalkar, Mrs. Malini Kunnath and Mrs. Geetha Sriram.

This Exhibition showcased the skills of students through multifarious displays of Projects based on Science, Mathematics, various Clubs and disaster mitigation activities.

The theme of the Exhibition was ‘Applied Mathematics and Science as Human Benefactors’. The following are the Sub-topics:

Beside this, artifacts of Conservation Club, Integrity Club and Health Club were on display. The School Annual Exhibition brought out great ideas and even greater enthusiasm and creativity in students to strike a healthier balance with nature.

Project Display for Primary Section was held on 25.11.2023 on the topic ‘Nurture Nature’. The students put up a spectacular display of creative, colouful, informative Charts, Projects & Models about different ‘Types of Pollution’, ‘Causes & Consequences of Pollution’, ‘Carbon Footprints’, ‘Threat to Endangered Species’ & ‘Ways to Reduce, Reuse, Recycle & Replenish’. Students demonstrated and highlighted the importance of the healing properties of nature & thus the requirement to save it.

ORIENTATION PROGRAMME FOR PARENTS

Orientation Programme for the parents of Std VI to X was conducted on 15th April 2023 to update them about the current curriculum and assessment pattern. As per the guidelines of CBSE in New Education Policy, Marathi was introduced as the third language in Std IX from this academic session of 2023 – 2024. Apart from this, curriculum focus on creative & critical thinking capacities, 21st learning skills, digital literacy, multilingualism, health & wellness etc was emphasised.

WORKSHOP ON ‘FINANCIAL LITERACY’

A workshop on Financial Literacy was conducted for the students of Std IX & X on 12th July 2023 to aware and educate the students about the concepts of investment, its benefits and the use of different tools of investment. The Resource Persons were

Mr. Bhagat Banzal, Vice President and Mrs. Asmita Karulkar, Associate Vice President, Unit Trust of India, who shared light on the topics of Banking, Financial Institutions, concept of Budgeting and Saving. The session equipped students with essential financial skills and knowledge necessary for their future financial well – being.

WORKSHOP ON RATIONAL PARENTING

A workshop on Rational Parenting was conducted for the parents of Std X students on 15th July 2023. Mrs. Ketki Raut , the School Counselor & Guest Parents of our School Toppers in Std X Board Examination 2022- 2023, Mr. Vishwas Gade & Mrs. Soumya Sridharan were the Resource Persons.

The parent guests shared their experiences on how parents can be a friend, mentor and guide for their wards. They insisted on inculcating positive parenting by providing support in the physical, emotional, social and intellectual areas of children, especially during the strenuous time of Board Examinations. Also emphasis was laid on making children better human beings rather than only focusing on excelling in examinations.

EYE CHECK UP CAMP

As an endeavour to bring about awareness about eye-health amongst students, an Eye Check-up Camp was organized in school on 25th July & 26th July 2023 for the students of Pre – Primary to Std X & the entire Staff of the School by Ramkrishna Netralaya. The team of doctors examined the eyes of the students and gave valuable feedback and suggestions for further line of action.

BAGLESS DAY

As per CBSE directives,the school observed Bagless Day for the students of Std I to X on 22nd July 2023. This is to sensitise students to engage in activities involving the head, hand, and heart. The multi-skill activities fostered the development of various skills, soft skills, aesthetic values, cooperation, teamwork, creativity, quality, etc. Students involved & enjoyed themselves through an array of activities from Story narration, Role play, Drama & Skit, Gamification and various other hands-on activities.

DENTAL CHECK UP

A Dental Check- up camp was organized for the students & the staff on 20th & 21st October 2023. It was conducted by a team of doctors from Dr. Karve’s Dentech clinic. They carried out a comprehensive free dental checkup for students and staff. They also provided individual feedback to the students about good oral hygiene and suggested ways to maintain it.

WORKSHOPS FOR STUDENTS

A Workshop for students of Std VI & VII was conducted on 4th August 2023 on the topic ‘I Can be the Best’ by Harpreet Randhawa from Hindustan Times. In this interactive session, children passionately shared their interests, likings & favourite things ranging from academic subjects to entertainment programmes. The students were made aware to work towards their passion with complete dedication and perseverance to be the best in their own fields of inquisitiveness.

A Workshop for students of Std VIII & IX was conducted on 10th August 2023 on the topic ‘Know yourself – Self Assessment’. The Resource Person was Mrs. Harpreet Randhawa from Hindustan Times. The students were taken through various rounds of interesting questions in order to introspect themselves. Knowing oneself helped our students to identify their values, interests & personality type. The session benefitted on working towards self-awareness, strategic thinking and planning the future.

A Workshop for students of Std X was conducted on 10th August 2023 on the topic’ ‘Goal Setting’. Mrs. Harpreet Randhawa from Hindustan Times was the Resource person. The session dealt with defining specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and time based objectives and defined steps to prepare themselves not only for their first important examination but also for the larger challenges in future.

A workshop on Career Guidance was conducted by the school for Std X students on 17th August 2023. Rotarian J.B. Kabra was the Resource Person. The interactive Career Workshop helped students to understand various opportunities, latest trends and factors which needs to be considered before deciding the most suitable career path.

School Interact Club in association with Rotary Club of Thane conducted a Workshop on making Eco Friendly Ganpati for the students of Std VIII & IX on 29th August, 2023. The workshop highlighted the importance of using sustainable practices during festivals to protect our environment. Skilled Artisan, Mrs. Pournima Shirgaonkar & her team from ‘Paryavaran Shala’ demonstrated the technique of structuring clay into beautiful Ganpati idols.

A Workshop on ‘First Aid’ for students of Std X & IX was conducted on 18^th September 2023. The Resource Person, Dr. Alok Modi, educated students on basic life saving techniques, including basic life support hands on techniques on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (cpr), choking management, wound care, fracture stabilization, burn first aid & emergency responses were demonstrated with active participation by our students.

A workshop on ‘Health and Hygiene’ was conducted on 07.02.24 for Girls of Std VI & VII by Mrs. Bhagyashree Patil, Direct Marketing Executive from Procter and Gamble Ltd. The workshop was organised to create awareness amongst girls towards personal care and hygiene. They were explained about the menstrual cycle and the ways to handle it better.They were made aware about the changes in the body and learnt to be open about addressing an issue of personal hygiene to their guardians.

“Science begins with wonder, scientific temperament and rational thinking”
With the aim to inculcate a scientific attitude, research- mindedness and to enhance student’s interest in science and technology, the School Conducted Annual Science and Maths Exhibition – ‘QUEST’ on 15.10.2022. Principal Dr. Lipika Chandra, inaugurated the exhibition by doing the honors of cutting the ribbon and lighting the lamp.She was accompanied by the Parent Judges- Mrs. Preeti Patwardhan, Ms. Muskan Chandvani, Mrs. Namrata V. Panchal, Mr. Subhash Shanbhag. The occasion also marked the birthday celebration of Dr. Abdul Kalam Azad. Students of Std VI to X enthusiastically showcased static and working models on the concepts and theories of Dr. Kalam.

The theme of the Exhibition was ‘Applied Science and Mathematics for Sustainable Growth.’ Following are the Sub topics of the Project:

UNITY RUN

The school observed ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’ in the month of November 2022 in the memory of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s contribution towards uniting India, by organizing a ‘Unity Run’ for the students around the school premises.

DENTAL CHECK UP

A Dental Check Up camp for the students of the entire school was conducted on 14th and 15th of December, 2022 . A team of dentists from Dr. Karve’s Dentech, Thane came for the dental checkup. They provided tips for maintaining good oral hygiene.

WORKSHOP ON HEALTH AND HYGIENE

A workshop on ‘Health and Hygiene’ was conducted on 31.01.2023 for Girls of std VI and VII by Ms.Pushpanjali Devkota from Procter and Gamble Ltd. The workshop was organised to create awareness amongst girls towards personal care and hygiene. They were explained about the menstrual cycle and the ways to handle it better. Importance of good quality sanitary napkins and ensuring safe disposal of sanitary napkins in an environmentally friendly manner was discussed.Students were encouraged to address their problems related to health and personal grooming with their mothers. The session made the girls understand their body and problems related to it, if they ignore personal hygiene. They learnt to become more confident and open about addressing an issue of personal hygiene to their guardians.

NATIONAL STUDENT EXCHANGE PROGRAMME

Our school envisions establishing collaborative partnership with other schools at local and national level. In pursuance of this, an Online Student Exchange Programme was conducted on 13.01.2023 for the students of Std VIII of Ryan International School, Padmavati Branch, Jaipur. The session was also attended by the Principal’s of both the partner schools – Dr. Lipika Chandra , Principal , Lok Puram Public School, Thane and Mrs. Madhukanta Yadav, Principal, Ryan International School, Padmavati Branch, Jaipur.
This National Student Exchange Programme dealt with the crucial topics ‘Ill Effects of Bullying and Awareness about Safe Touch. The Resource Person Mrs. Ketki Raut, Counsellor, Lok Puram Public School made the students aware and conscious about the various forms of bullying such as psychological, physical, emotional, social and cyber bullying.
In the later part of the session , the counsellor dealt with a very sensitive topic ie. Good touch / bad touch for children. This exchange program had largely benefited the children.

ORIENTATION FOR PARENTS

An Orientation Programme on Assessment Pattern for the parents of Std VI to X was held on 23rd April 2022, to aware them about the changed curriculum and assessment pattern. As per the guidelines of CBSE in New Education Policy, Competency based, Case Study based & Source based questions are introduced for students of Std IX & X to promote higher order thinking skills. Accordingly, practice is being given on a regular basis to the students. Apart from this, art integrated learning, experiential learning and strategies for inclusive classroom are followed as well.

WORKSHOP ON RATIONAL PARENTING

A workshop on Rational Parenting was conducted for the parents of Std X students on 17.09.2022. Mrs. Ketki Raut , the School Counselor, Mrs. Seema, the school Special Educator & Guest Parents- Mr. Ravi Subramanium Iyer, father of our ex-student Roshni Iyer, Flying Officer, Indian Air Force & Mrs.Preeti Patwardhan, whose daughter Nihira Patwardhan have excelled in Std X Board Examination 2022, were the Resource Persons. They advised parents to build a strong bond of communication with their children and show faith in their abilities. Also importance on healthy diet, outdoor and extra curricular activities along with studies were emphasized.

WORKSHOP FOR STUDENTS

A Talk show was organized for the students of Std X on 25th April 2022 & Std IX on 25th July 2022 respectively. Our Ex-student of 2012 batch, Harshvardhan Sohni & Roshni Iyyer of 2013 batch, both Fighter Pilots in Indian Air Force enriched and inspired their juniors with motivational talk. They shared their rare experiences of enrollment as a cadet initially and further learning, graduating and excelling their flying skills in the Indian Air Force.

ECO FRIENDLY GANESH IDOL MAKING WORKSHOP

The Interact club of Lok Puram Public School organized ’Eco Friendly Ganesha Workshop’ for Interact Club members of Std VIII and IX on the 23rd of August 2022.

The training team was lead by Mrs Pournima Shirgaonkar from Paryavaran Shala. Her team trainers were Artist Mrs Suvarna Bange, Mrs Amita Gavand,Mrs Kirti Bhapkarand all of whom played a pivotal role in helping the students towards sculpting the Lords enigmatic form with full reverence.

Mr Amol Dharme, President of Rotary Club,Thane Lake city and upcoming president Mr Brijesh personally guided the students through the journey from clay to a beautiful work of art in the form of Lord Ganesha.

WORKSHOP ON CAREER COUNSELING

A two day workshop on Career Guidance was conducted by the school for Std X students and parents on 26.09.2022 & 27.09.2022 respectively. Rotarian J.B. Kalra was the Resource Person. He opened the session by providing information on different fields and career options available for students as per their interests & potentials. He mentioned various colleges and institutes where students can apply to pursue regular & professional courses.

An Aptitude Test for the students of Std X was conducted on 28.08.2022 to identify the personality traits, skills and interests of the students to help them choose their desired field of career.

WORKSHOP ON FIRST AID

A workshop on First Aid was organized on 28.09.2022 for the students of Std IX & X. The Resource Persons were Mr. Amol Dharme, President Rotary Club, Thane & Dr. Kiran Pandit, also a senior Rotarian. They guided the students on how to be prompt and act responsibly to rescue, save or revive a person in need of medical emergency before professional help arrives.

EYE CHECK UP CAMP

An Eye Check up camp was organised by Shree Ramakrishna Netralaya, Thane on 6th & 7th July 2022 for all the students and staff of the school. A team of doctors conducted vision screenings and suggested remedial measures to the students.

SWACHHATA PAKHWADA

Lok Puram Public School celebrated Swachhta Pakhwada to sensitize children on maintaining cleanliness, self-hygiene and observing Covid appropriate behaviour.

The following activities were conducted classwise on 10th & 12th September 2022:

Std. I – Pictorial representation of Personal Hygiene like brushing teeth, cutting nails, bathing, wearing clean clothes, etc.
Std. II – Live demonstration of the correct way of Washing Hands.
Std. III – Video on ‘Toilet Hygiene’ was shown & Charts on the same was displayed in classrooms and outside the washrooms.
Std. IV – Children wrote Slogans on the ‘Importance of Cleanliness’.
Std. V – Creative Posters making on ‘Covid Appropriate Behaviour’.
Std. VII – Posters and Slogans on ‘Maintaining Cleanliness’. Children also made beautiful small table dustbins using waste cardboards and baskets.

RASHTRIYA POSHAN ABHIYAN

Students celebrated the 5th Rashtriya Poshan Mah during the month of September, 2022 with the overarching vision to make India malnutrition free by 2022. Students from Std I to X took the pledge on Poshan on 22.09.2022. They enthusiastically participated in the cause with the following activities:

ORIENTATION FOR PARENTS

RATIONAL PARENTING

The School organised a virtual session on Rational Parenting for the parents of Std X on 24th July 2021. The session was conducted by School Counsellor, Mrs. Ketki Raut and Mrs. Aditi Chatterjee, a parent of the School Topper of AISSE, batch 2019-20. The session encouraged the parents to be the support system of their wards by developing a strong positive bond of a friend, guide, mentor and a facilitator. It also focused on the aspects of managing time, organization skills, prioritising subject wise studies and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

ORIENTATION ON NEW ASSESSMENT PATTERN

An Orientation Programme for Std IX & X was conducted virtually on 21st August 2021 for the parents of Std IX & X to appraise them on ‘Special Scheme of Assessment’ for Std IX & X (2021 – 22).

VIRTUAL WORKSHOP FOR STUDENTS (2021-22)

Lok Puram Public School conducted a Virtual online session on the topic ‘ Computer Screen Syndrome’ for the students of Std X on 02.03.2022 & 05.03.2032. With the new normal, schooling and education had been consuming the screen time to a large extent for the children, raising a lot of health issues, especially related to eyesight. To address this alarming situation, renowned ophthalmologist, Founder and Medical Director of Wavikar Eye Institute, Dr. Chandrashekhar Wavikar was invited as the Resource Person.

An Online webinar session was conducted on 09.03.2022 for the student of Std X on the topic ‘Teen and Teeth’. Resource Person was Dr. Tanaya Tambe. She addressed the students to make them aware about oral hygiene and ways to maintain a sparkling smile.
